Our Work

Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) has extensive experience in communicable disease control and community development.

The multi-disciplinary background of our Board of Trustees has enabled us to provide quality technical assistance to our communities and partners. Our broad understanding of development paradigms and emerging frameworks has aided our partners to make enlightened decisions and select development solutions that suit their needs. We pace our projects according to our partners' time frame but always with a sense of urgency.

A. Communicable Diseases and Prevalent Health Problems

This program was conceived as the Foundation’s continuing support to the government’s health development initiatives, to facilitate the elimination of selected communicable and infectious diseases (e.g., leprosy, filariasis, malaria, tuberculosis, schistosomiasis, etc.) that are prevalent in particular underprivileged geographic areas.

B. Community Development and Support for Livelihood Projects

This program evolved as a support to Culion Foundation's Leprosy Control and Elimination Program in the then Culion Leper Colony in Palawan.  The aim is to provide socio-economic assistance through livelihood and other community development projects.

C. Technical Assistance and Consultancy Program

This program of assistance was designed to contribute to the enhancement of development stakeholders by sharing with them practical lessons gained through the Foundation’s vast experience from its more than three decades of social development work.
