Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI), led by its Executive Director, participated in the celebration of the National Tuberculosis Day 2016, which was organized by the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP). The event was held on September 13, 2016 at the Entertainment Hall of SM Mall of Asia. The Department of Health (DOH) worked closely with PBSP, a partner of CFI, in this event to attain its targets geared towards elimination of tuberculosis in the Philippines. Promoting awareness of tuberculosis among various sectors of population, particularly high school students and teachers in the City of Manila, was the objective of the project. The activities include cheer dance competition, Instagram photo contest, poster-making contest, Ubokabularyo video contest, quiz bee, and a 3-segment talk show. In the third segment of the talk show, the CFI’s Executive Director was one of the guests, together with the Executive Directors of PBSP and the Philippine Coalition Against Tuberculosis. He shared the commitment and support being given by CFI to the National Tuberculosis Control Program of the DOH. The CFI’s Resource Mobilization Officer and Hospital DOTS Project Manager also attended the celebration.
