OVP Partnerships Against Poverty Summit

The Office of the Vice President of the Philippines (OVP) invited Culion Foundation, Inc. (CFI) in the launching of their Angat Buhay Program. Led by its Chairman and President, CFI participated in the Partnerships Against Poverty Summit of the OVP last October 10, 2016 at the SMX Convention Center. The OVP offers itself as a bridge among the local government units, international and local non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations, people’s organizations, academic institutions, faith-based groups, and other development organizations. Their office has identified different priority areas in the country that need holistic and integrated delivery of services on education, health, food security, nutrition, and development, one of which is Culion, Palawan. As an active partner of the OVP, CFI has pledged to support the Angat Buhay initiative of the OVP in Culion, Palawan, where CFI has started its development work, through its Balik-Culion Program. According to the OVP, there were about a thousand individuals who attended the summit representing various agencies. CFI Executive Director, Culion Area Coordinator, Resource Mobilization Officer, Hospital DOTS Project Manager, and Office Assistant were also present in the summit.
